The Aspiring Executive
This Vice President was a capable, and well respected expert in his field. He was a solid manager, and the senior executives came to him when they needed specific inputs on his areas of expertise. However, “Damien” wanted to be a thought partner to the executives. He wanted to be ON the executive team. The coaching centered around his need to stand up and be noticed more, and how he needed to expand the areas where he added his 2 (or 3) cents. He quickly began to build credibility with a broader audience within the organization, and within 6 months, Damien was in line for a promotion to the Executive Team.

Building Gravitas
This senior manager was smart as hell, but wasn’t receiving the respect he deserved. And this wasn’t just a “feeling.” Through an interview process with his colleagues, it was validated: people liked “Stefan,” but they didn’t respect him. They thought he lacked confidence, but that didn’t match Stefan’s view of himself! The coaching focused on building his gravitas, and helping him own his own power. This included changing the way he spoke at times, building his outward display of confidence, and growing his awareness of his strengths and how to show them in a powerful and authentic way.

Right vs. Right
It’s lonely at the top. And this CEO felt it. When “Sheila” sold her company to a PE firm, her view of what was “right” came into question. Again, and again, and again. This was a major change for her and the company, and she had to constantly weigh out her options and make hard decisions. Decisions between right and wrong are easy. But when all the choices in front of you are “right,” the choices can feel impossible. This coaching centered around weighing options, playing out scenarios, balancing stakeholders, considering alternative voices, and ultimately making - and owning - her decisions.
